As a South Carolina wedding photographer, I’ve seen it all. Tears, cheers, lost shoes, last minute hair spray scrambles, and one guest who mistook the photo booth for a porta-potty. (Spoiler: it was not.) But no matter what, I always tell my couples one thing: it’s your wedding day, act accordingly. That doesn’t mean pretending everything is perfect. It means showing up, in the moment, fully present, ready to have the time of your life. You only get this once… unless you’re George Clooney.

Look, I know how tempting it is to stress over the schedule or worry that your centerpieces aren’t symmetrical (hot take: no one cares but you and your florist). But this is the one day where you get to be unapologetically joyful, weird, emotional, wild, or all of the above. Want to ugly cry when you see your person at the end of the aisle? DO IT. Want to do a mid-ceremony fist bump with your best friend? Yes. Please. Live it. Love it. Milk it.

If there’s anything I’ve learned shooting weddings across the United States, it’s that the most photogenic moments aren’t the ones that are perfectly posed, they’re the ones where you’re completely lost in the moment. I want to capture you belly laughing with your people, twirling like a goofball with your new spouse, and looking like you’re exactly where you want to be. Because you are.

So yes, act accordingly. But let that mean throwing out your rulebook for the day. Let it mean laughing when your veil gets stuck in a bush or dancing your butt off even if your moves would make TikTok cry. Let it mean being you, wildly, wonderfully, fully. This is your story, I’m just here to make sure it gets told beautifully.

And if you need a hype person, a dress fluffer, a boutonnière fixer, or someone to quietly sneak you a drink during family photos, I’ve got you. I’m more than just your wedding photographer. I’m here to make sure you don’t just remember your wedding day, I want you to feel it again every time you look at your photos.

So take a deep breath, shake off the nerves, and remember: you’re getting married! Act accordingly.
